I just want a national revival of Christians getting back to the root of the Christian message.
A return to Jesus’s commandments.
Love thy God
Love thy neighbor as thyself.
That should be the filter we, as Christian’s, see the world through.
@rightresponsem If we’re going back, why don’t we go back to how the original Christians believed then? That’s a purer faith anyways. But it doesn’t get involved in politics so you could not handle it.
Some misguided souls are more loyal to the reformation than they are to the gospel itself.
@smashbaals Open Christian Nationalists are an embarrassment.
They’re hardly even Christian……or Nationalists.
It’s literally just people that voluntarily want to live under a brand of fascism that they just happen to agree with.
Slave mentality.
@richplow The Dept of Ed. has been slowly but surely eroded over time by the Religious right.
Since segregation ended, there has been a war on the Dept of Ed.
The system needs an overhaul, but hopefully from someone who is pro-public education. Not a continuation of the same crap.
You’re right they aren’t being persecuted. Only the phonies who care more about politics than Jesus feel persecuted.
I bet you and your followers are also adamantly tired of black people crying racism at any possibly perceived racial incident.
Well that’s how you and your boys on here sound crying about this.
And those people didn’t go to prison for being Christian. They went to prison for breaking federal laws. What is it so many of our grandparents used to say? “Play stupid games; win stupid prizes.” They have tried to justify their political activism with Christianity. Men like you send people like them to prison by teaching from a political pulpit. You mischaracterizing their crimes to fit your narrative better on this post puts you in the gutter too.
You’re hypocrites is what you are.
You see the very real threat on one side but not the other.
Christian Nationalists and The Heritage Foundation (Project 2025) want to do just that.
That’s the maddening part about the modern conservative movement. Becoming a conservative from a blue state, makes sense to see the world that way. You’re a red dot in a sea of Blue.
However, you should take a tour around the deep red south and see how many crooked little towns we can find. Republicans are just as bad as Democrats but they don’t have the full support of 75% of the media.
They have the Churches to spread their propaganda. I’ve been around it my entire life.
Conservatism and even Liberalism BY DEFINITION are both solid philosophies.
Republicanism and Democrat-ism are cancers for our country and nothing will change until we do something about the parties that have both become too big and corporatized for an institution in support of democracy.
Which denomination? Because we can barely get Protestants and Catholics to sit in the same room, much less religious law that dictates our lives.
Instead of the false dichotomy of ‘Secular vs religious’, you would get ‘religious A’ vs ‘religious B’.
It’s such an immature and uneducated proposal that doesn’t even dive into the actual implications of such a move. It is normally here where people realize a large chunk of Christian Nationalists are either really young and inexperienced in life or uneducated by choice.
That’s not even getting into CNs openly calling for the dismantling of the US Constitution. Now that’s getting into some treacherous territory.
@haymes_joshua @Wseuntoslvtion You’re not even trying anymore.
You reference Romans 13 when it fits but then ignore it when you’re trying to destroy the US Constitution with your Christian Nationalism BS.
You should not be allowed anywhere close to a pulpit.
….and would prefer a white only society. “
You’re missing the end of your sentence, which is the real crux of the problem.
Just like we saw with you and your little white boy Nazi group you got too close too.
Some of us are actually able to see the demons among us Joel. You aren’t fooling God either.
@akafacehots@elonmusk , at what point do you start to hiding posts from pathological liars?
I’m not voting for Kamala, but this dude just straight up lies.
This is the facts, Doc. People that don’t see this have never read the Gospels literarily or at least outside a Bible study session.
When you read the story of Jesus, The Good News, as it was intended, you get a much different story than many evangelical churches teach today.
They tried to hide the fact that Jesus was primarily indignant against hypocritical religious authority and inauthentic expressions of faith. Two things rampant in today’s Church.
They have a hard time admitting Jesus was a “social justice warrior” who fought for the weakest amongst us. They have replaced their faith with politics and their politics inform them that social justice warriors are bad. They label anyone fighting for social justice as “liberals or socialists or communists”. Political labels for something that has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with humanity. Labeled for simply caring for and sometimes exalting the people who get punished for not living in service to Mammon like so many of us still do.
Mammon runs our world today. The meek will inherit the Earth for never serving him.
@douglassmackey If I don’t agree with anything else from the laser eyes, I agree with this. These are the interventions that need to happen if it’s so bad there for the innocent people.
I personally believe it has to do with how Jewish law was being enforced at the time. Circumcision is not required for salvation, but it is still symbolizes a connection with God.
Same for Peter paying taxes. Jesus was letting people know that it’s a good thing to do, but not a soul-defining action.
Is your faith that fragile?! Grow up. This person is speaking the truth.
Paul & Jesus are not the same person. Do you not agree with that statement? Lol
Just because you’ve bought into the whole univocal “god-breathed” nonsense doesn’t mean anyone else should. You are putting a lot of faith in men to believe that. Either way you believe, just move on.
This discussion has ZERO bearing in salvation, unless of course you idolize the Bible.
Christians are allowed to have varying opinions on scripture.
