Here's how to make your RPOs 10x better in College Football 27👇
The key is the UNTARGET feature🔑
When RPOs are shutdown it's usually because of slot corners on hard flats or manned up to the receiver on a route.
To counter this, simply untarget the OUTSIDE corner.
This will tell our outside wide receiver to block the slot cornerback no matter if he's in a man or zone assignment
You can double check to see who the outside receiver is blocking by holding L2/LT

How to ACTUALLY Analyze Your Opponent’s Route Combos in Madden/CFB 👇
Everyone says: “Analyze your opponent’s route combos.” But nobody really explains how to do that in real time.
After the snap, there’s a lot happening fast:
➡️3–5 routes are developing
➡️You're trying to user the middle
➡️You're watching for crossers, flats, seams, posts, corners, etc.
And before you know it… Your user is in no man’s land, your switch stick is late, and your opponent has an easy completion.
So here’s the key:
Stop trying to read EVERY route at once.
Instead, identify the main receiver in that formation who gives away the concept.
Route combos are built to complement each other. Most of the time, there is one player in the formation whose route tells you what the rest of the concept is likely going to be.
Once you know who that player is, the game slows down.
Let’s use Bunch X Nasty as an example.
In Bunch X Nasty, a lot of the best route combos are built around the RB. So versus this formation, your first read should often be the RB.
If the RB runs a speed table, there’s a good chance your opponent is running something like a:
➡️Drag + Cross + Return concept
If the RB runs a cross flat, it’s usually telling you there may be a:
➡️Flood concept to the bunch side
That doesn’t mean these are the only possible combos, but it gives you a real starting point.
Now instead of trying to stare at all 5 routes, you are reading one key player first, identifying the concept, and then reacting with your user or switch stick.
Another great example is Trips TE.
In Trips TE, the main player you want to identify is usually the TE. The TE’s route can tell you a lot:
➡️If the TE runs a drag, the RB is often on a Texas route, meaning it could be a Curl Flat-style concept.
➡️If the TE runs a corner, it may be Verticals with the RB Texas underneath.
➡️If the TE runs a streak, expect a post or crossing route coming from the trips side.
➡️If the TE runs a post or crosser, expect underneath routes like drags, ins, or flats working below it.
That’s how you actually start reading route combos.
You’re not trying to magically see everything at once.
You’re finding the main receiver and using that information to predict the rest of the concept.
Every formation has a tell.
Your job is to figure out:
1. Who is the main receiver in this formation?
2. What routes does he usually run?
3. What route combos are built around those routes?
4. How do I need to user or switch stick once I recognize it?
That is how you stop guessing and start playing real defense.
