I think it has been a red line through out this tournament, inconsistency on how fouls are called and reviewed or not. You can name a big number of calls or non-reviews that leave a bad taste and are destroying the credibility of the sport. No clue how the referees are picked or how they are qualified to participate in this World Cup, but, it is obvious to me that it’s not working anymore……watched my first World Cup with my dad back in 1990, never seen anything like in this one. I think for me the World Cup is done…..not going to watch another game.

Prior to the 3rd Argentina goal, there was a foul on Salah inside the penalty area. The referee didn’t even VAR check this and allowed the Argentina goal.

Egypt was DISALLOWED a goal because the referee VAR checked a foul on Argentina.
