Helpful doesn't mean hiding your affiliation. π¬
When your product genuinely fits a Reddit question, explain the fit and disclose your connection. If the community bans promotion, respect that boundary.

They're beating you by being in the conversation.

Keep SEO. Add an answer scoreboard. π§
SEO focuses on search visibility. AEO focuses on visibility within answers. GEO overlaps with that goal in generated responses.
Start with one buyer question, one clear answer and repeatable checks.
#SaaS
Your next buyer might never browse your site. π
Picture a founder asking AI which tool fits their team. The answer becomes their starting shortlist.
Here's a practical AEO workflow for making your brand easier to understand and your content more useful.
Track answers separately from rankings. π
Log the prompt, engine, date, brands named and sources cited.
Repeat the checks over time. Answers can vary, so don't treat a single mention or omission as a verdict.
Stop asking "How do I go viral?"
Start asking "Where are my buyers asking questions right now?" π―
The second question pays the bills.

Your buyer's shortlist can form without you. π
Picture this: a founder needs a project management tool for a small remote team.
They could search Google and open a few tabs.
Or they could ask an AI assistant: βWhich tool fits a remote team that wants simple setup, not enterprise complexity?β
The answer names a few options. Your product fits, but it isn't mentioned.
That's the visibility problem answer engine optimization, or AEO, is meant to address: helping your content and brand become part of the answer, not just another page to visit.
Don't start by publishing more. Start by making your existing answers more useful.
π οΈ Try this workflow:
1. Pick one real buying question.
Use the language buyers use in sales calls, support messages and relevant Reddit threads. Include their constraints, not just your category keyword.
2. Answer it immediately.
Put the direct answer below a descriptive heading. Then explain the tradeoffs, limitations and evidence. Don't make readers dig through your company history.
3. Make claims checkable.
Keep pricing and product details current. Separate what your product does from what you hope it will do.
4. Contribute where the question already exists.
On Reddit, help the buyer make a decision. Respect community rules and disclose your affiliation when relevant. A paid mention isn't independent validation.
5. Keep a separate AI visibility log.
Record the question, engine, date, brands mentioned and cited sources. Repeat over time. One answer is a snapshot, not a stable ranking.
SEO asks whether your page is findable.
AEO adds another question: is your brand represented when the buyer gets an answer?
Keep doing SEO. Add that second scoreboard. π
