It was an honour to attend and lay a wreath at the Stockport Civic act of Remembrance this morning on behalf of @GwynneMP.
I then attended the services in Reddish at the Cenotaph and Willow Grove Cemetery. It was great to see so many people paying their respects.
As Chancellor and now Prime Minister, Sunak must face up to his mistakes that have led to the vicious cycle of stagnation this Tory government has trapped us in.
Working people are paying the price for Tory failure.
Britain deserves more than this.
NEW: Interest rates rise to 3%.
Families now face higher mortgages and more anxiety after months of economic chaos.
Today’s recession warning lays bare how 12 years of the Tories have weakened our economy, left us exposed to shocks, with falling living standards & low growth.
Under the Tories: thousands of people will pay higher mortgage bills for years on top of soaring food prices and energy bills.
With Labour: a fully costed plan to stabilise the economy and tackle the cost of living crisis.
Keir Starmer, speaking on Times Radio, says global events are “only part of the story”
“This isn’t just about what’s happening this week or next week, this has been 12 years of utter failure in this government," he says.
“There is a Tory premium now on mortgages."
Johnson was partying in No 10 while my mum was dying alone, not having seen any of her children or grandchildren because we were obeying lockdown. It absolutely disgusts me that Fabricant and others think he's a suitable person to lead the country.

I’ve never seen scenes like it at the entrance to a voting lobby. Tories on open warfare. Jostling and Rees Mogg shouting at his colleagues. Whips screaming at Tories.
They are done and should call a general election.
Two Tory whips dragging people in. Shocking.
Strong words here from @cllrkatebutler and @ColinFoster24

Reddish Library were pleased to welcome the Mayor and deputy Mayor, David Wilson and Linda Holt, to formally present Leo the Lion back to the Reddish community. Leo was part of the amazing 'Reddish Roaring' event this Summer organised by @HeatonsPost @StockportMBC
Mortgages are going up more in this country than elsewhere because the Conservatives crashed the economy.
Penny Maudant, in the unexplained absence of Liz Truss, blamed international circumstances. Until they accept responsibility, the government simply won't rebuild confidence.
