@Aaron_Torres A heavily dem skewed city in an off year voted for a known city council member that you were unaware of because...reasons (which became biases), happened to win.
good heavens. my word. this is truly trifling. /s

Lo and behold voters didn't pull for a guy that said he was so disconnected he would just leave the city if he didn't win. My god. How could he have lost with such a stellar campaign message?
I lived in California for a couple of years, and I agree it's *very* annoying that the state takes so long to count ballots. But Spencer Pratt losing ground is not a conspiracy. It's totally predictable.
CA allows voters to *send* their ballots on Election Day. They have a week to get there, so some ballots that will still be counted have yet to even arrive. Left-leaning people are more likely to vote by mail. Right-leaning people—of which there are fewer in LA—are more skeptical of it, so it easily follows that more Pratt voters would vote at the actual ballot box. This is not rocket science.
Maybe California's laws should change. A week after an election is a very long time to still be accepting ballots, and it damages trust in the process. But a registered Republican heading for a loss in one of the most progressive cities in the world is not a shocker.
Remember everyone…we are still in the lead, and we’ve got allllllll the way til July 6th to keep counting. They’re not the only ones who know where to find votes 😉
@TheJniac We're talking about a guy who obviously--and openly--cheated, then lied about his ranking in Path of Exile 2, doubling down until the evidence was irrefutable. If he's willing to go to such lengths to lie about a video game, why wouldn't he lie about things much harder to prove?
The state of play is more advantageous to Ukraine now than it was a year ago, and U.S. military aid would make it even more so. Crawford is one of the potential picks for permanent DNI, and so this act of cowardice is also one of opportunism.
It will be interesting to see how russia responds.
My bet is, "the goals of the 'SMO' will be met" and "address the root causes" and the imagined need for a wider deal with Europe addressing their "concerns" and more bombs.
The key thing, Ukraine is not the obstacle to peace.
“if you do not personally come to the conclusion that it is time to end this war, ukraine will continue fighting for its existence. we will have those who support us.
but you, too, will have to fight much harder for your own existence—not russia’s, but your own. and this is not a threat from me or from ukraine. it is a fact of russian history that you know well: when russia grows tired, change comes."

@TheSCIF They should put this graph in history books to teach kids what happens when you spend your entire campaign telling your voters not to vote by mail
The Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum of 2026 (SPIEF 2026) in Russia has started with a very fiery keynote speech by the Ukrainian surprise guests.
