@meaderic Also there’s this problem that what the general public thinks is mediocre and what me and you think is mediocre is different. There’s not near as much common ground when grading performers as there is in other performing arts categories.
@meaderic So is this mediocrity relative to our normal standards? That would lead me to believe that the virtual market is stronger than most want to believe. Or clients are searching for great magicians and having to settle.
Quite a few performers who are mediocre at best working live are finding real success in the virtual space. Does the medium mitigate certain weaknesses, are audiences less critical and appreciative of any novelty in the pandemic, or is it something else?
