I tweeted this when it came out, but I’m only just now understanding the power and community of #MedTwitter and #MedStudentTwitter. Sorry, I’m new to this whole tweeting thing
"Five of the first ten patients I cared for passed away. For a new physician — for anyone, really — this amount of death is disturbing. I remember the names and faces of each of them." Doctor @RedelTraub on the first weeks in the hospital during COVID-19 https://t.co/XKOE5fh1ZA
@AmericanAir had a terrible experience with you leading me to miss the first night of my best friend’s wedding. Haven’t been able to get in touch with customer service…
#MedTwitter, when you’re on nights do you send non-urgent emails during your shift? I want to get things done, but I also feel like a psycho sending a work email at 3am?!?
@MKIttlesonMD Anchoring = bad, saying not sure =fine, but even better to offer a differential and the testing you think will help most in order to show how you’re thinking about something
@JuliaProbert @NateSilver538 Totally out of mine as well. And yet my family/friends have asked me my opinions about it so I feel like I have to have some thoughts on the matter. I thought this framework was good. @VPrasadMDMPH
@JuliaProbert So I don’t disagree that @NateSilver538 isn’t the one who needs to be lecturing public health officials, but to me it does seem like age should be THE driving factor re: vaccine prioritization, or do you disagree?
@DBelardoMD 100% re weight loss but also many people don’t start these regimens for the purpose of losing weight/lowering ASCVD risk. We should also have humility and say that we don’t know why some people just feel better on certain regimens and we are excited for the day we know more!
@MKIttlesonMD Frustrating as all residents involved to simply be playing middle man for things which are ultimately out of your control (a good recent eg for me was trying to get a trach scheduled for a patient intubated ~14d in CCU)
@MKIttlesonMD 3. In general I think attending to attending communication tends to be under utilized especially in crucial care related matters. All well and good for residents from different specialties to connect but ultimately in most institutions attendings are necessary for major decisions
