The sticky tape wasn't sticky.

That's what stopped a five by five foot sign this weekend. Board drilled and painted, LED strips going down the face of it in rows, and the adhesive backing on those strips would not hold. The LEDs came in a bit long on top of that, so I re-soldered those ends. There is a photo of me sitting on the floor with my head in my hands and it is accurate 🤣

It isn't finished. It also isn't dead. I'm waiting on materials.

Waiting on new options for getting this to adhere to my board.

I've been thinking about it in those terms because of Raider Damuni. He went down Saturday night and it looked bad enough that Kalani Sitake stood up afterward and said he was praying for a miracle. Sunday, Damuni posted about it himself:

"Although I'll miss a lot of my senior season, I won't miss all of it."

He put the bad half and the good half in the same sentence. He didn't pick one, and he didn't pretend the other one wasn't there.

A sign on my floor is not a senior season and I'm not going to act like those are the same thing. But that is a good way to say a hard thing out loud, and I'm borrowing it.

I picked up a little surprise for my wife to celebrate the start of BYU football season.

I’d been wanting to support a local hat designer, and recently came across @RedheadRepo.

Considering my wife is both Cougar fan and a redhead, this one felt made for her.

Seriously impressed with the quality of the hat, especially for 35 bucks. It feels like it should be 45-50.

I picked up a couple others as well, and got to hear some of Nate's story behind the brand. I'm going to share more about that another time, but these hats don't just look great, they support a really important cause.
