@b_co_co Ridiculous. The 10% penalty from 58-59.5 is a drop in the bucket. He’s not withdrawing it all at once. I’d argue he might have needed more money to retire but that is expense dependent.
@darrenrovell 27 years. It’s not even that great of a return year over year. Back of the napkin using the rule of 72 an 8 percent average gain would put the Dow over 80k.
@Travis_Sawchik@JonPgh I’m for paying the players more but I’m also for wild hypotheticals. Who is the “worst” player in MLB this year (or last) that you’d argue deserves to be set for life. I’d opine not every player deserves such (ex. a spot start call up from AAA). It’s honestly a fun question.
@FranWalsh73 You write as if you are losing $144000 by withholding too much. You fail to compare that to what you would have if you invested the $10000 return each year. I agree you come out ahead by not getting a refund but frame it better.
