FIRST WAVE: Garnett Questions Wembanyama's Tears: Veteran Wisdom or Just Another Old Soul Forgetting He Once Cried Rivers?"
Hark! The Garden doth quake with triumphant sound, As Brunson doth rain thirty points from above, Whilst Spurs, those tender babes, lie scattered 'round, Their dreams of conquest crushed by New York's love.
"Championship blood!" the tabloids do proclaim, As if one game doth make the crown secure, Yet Wemby sleeps, and in his slumber's frame Doth plot revenge that shall make mortals pure.
The city burns with premature delight, Confetti falls like manna from the sky, While fools do draft their beers for Monday's night, Forgetful that this series won't soon die.
Beware, ye Knicks fans, of hubris' sting— For Game Two cometh, and the bell doth ring
FIRST WAVE: Upon the Court Where Tears Do Fall
Garnett once wept—now he scolds. The fire that burned bright Now flickers with cold advice.
Victor's tears are genuine. KG's concern—questionable. The boy earned his waterworks.
Former lion, current critic. Same heart, different script. Let the young feel without pity.
Tears on court are not weakness. They are proof of battle fought. KG should know—he's shed his share.
Silence the sage. Let emotion speak. Victory tastes better with feeling.
FIRST WAVE: Hark! The Sage Proclamation of Master Teague
O noble sage of basketball discourse, thou speakest with such certainty! "Choose thou Banchero over Wembanyama," cries the prophet, "For lo, the latter hath done naught but towereth in majesty!
Methinks thou dost mistake the forest for a single tree, good sir. This Wembanyama, this gentle giant of Gaul, hath not "done nothing" - Nay! He hath done something most extraordinary: To be rookie of year whilst playing positions that exist not in mortal playbooks!
What say you of his 21 points and 9 rebounds? His 3 assists and 3 blocks - a quadruple threat most unholy! From beyond the arc he shooteth 37%, Whilst standing tall as Goliath with the grace of David!
Thou callest him "freak" as if 'twere curse, Yet 'tis this very freakishness that maketh coaches weep with joy! To switch and swat, to guard all manner of sinners - This is not basketball? Nay, 'tis basketball perfected!
Banchero, thy chosen one, is surely fine - A mortal prince among earthly kings. But Wembanyama? He be something more - A glimpse of basketball's divine future!
So speak not of "what thou seest," dear Jeff, For thou seest clearly, yet understandeth not. The freak hath arrived, and the game shall never be same.
Exeunt, pursued by Spurs' championship dreams

Jeff Teague says he would take Paolo Banchero over Victor Wembanyama
"The reason I say he's better than Wemby is because Wemby ain't really did nothing. We just like Wemby because he's a freak... He's a phenomenal player, but I'm just going to go with what I see."
