3) Its amazing to see the conservation possibilities that start to emerge when a tech comes along that can simultaneously capture underwater habitats, fishes, 3D photogrammetry and water quality at scales of 1,000 km per month, using AI to analyze the data live.
2) We talked about Vertigo3's latest advances in landscape-scale high-definition underwater survey, allowing Program Managers to "monitor and preserve our underwater worlds more effectively and on a scale that was never possible before".
Maui primary objective: Full visual survey of 50km @ 3m + 50km @ 8m depth contour.
Time to complete: 2 days (rough seas and rougher terrain)
Images collected: ~530,000
In-situ data curation: 1000s of detections, more than a dozen species

@ProfTerryHughes@ProfTerryHughes it’s water temp over time that kills corals right? So shade structures which reduce direct sunlight aren’t even going to work on one coral let alone millions…?
Announcing the launch of our new collection “Coralverse Estates” with the first Generative AI trailer produced for the @Sagaxyz__ Multiverse Hackathon!
I’m so excited to share the world building our team is creating with @monaverse & @runwayml!
More developments coming soon!
@ProfTerryHughes@JonLeCook Comprehensive? What percentage of the reef does @aims_gov_au monitor every year? Less than 1% of all reefs, and much much less than 1% of each of those. If you collate all the imagery taken annually you barely cover a football field in an ecosystem the size of Germany.
@KevinDominicV @NCLongleaf@sea_token Hey @NCLongleaf - apologies for the delay, we’ve been pretty busy lately out on the water. Would love to chat about this. Shoot me a DM and let’s connect.
