My second highlighted game of Day 2 at the UA Session II was my first look at Progeny 17U against @MiddlesexMagic Grind, and Progeny wasted no time making a statement. From the opening tip, they came out aggressive, confident, and attacking on both ends of the floor. Their energy and execution early on put Middlesex on their heels, and they opened up a 21-15 lead after the first quarter.
The second quarter brought more of the same. Progeny continued dictating the pace with strong ball movement, active defense, and timely shot making. Middlesex kept battling and searching for momentum, but every push was answered right back as Progeny stretched the lead to 34-24 heading into halftime.
Coming out of the break, Progeny completely turned the heat up.
They hit another gear offensively and defensively, overwhelming Middlesex with pressure, transition buckets, and efficient execution. The lead quickly ballooned as they ripped off another dominant quarter to take a commanding 56-38 lead into the fourth. From there, it was all Progeny as they never let up on the gas and rolled to a convincing 73-38 blowout win.
They were led by #3 @Chase_Ford21, who finished with a game-high 16 points and 3 assists while constantly applying pressure offensively. Teammate #10 @ReeceRunyan42 added 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist in a strong all-around performance.
@VincentNover also made his impact felt with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals, helping fuel the defensive intensity that separated Progeny throughout the matchup.
Middlesex was led by #3 @BakstQuinn, who finished with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal while continuing to battle on both ends despite the tough result.
