Game Day during connections block. First we developed class rules for how we want it to work. And then we played! At the end we will think about how we did following the rules.
This morning we are having a bus safety assembly. We figured out the last time 4th graders had an assembly in school was back in 1st grade! That amazing!
Next week our class will begin giving the morning announcements. Our focus will be indigenous people. Today we begin our research and writing of our scripts.
Social studies…we are beginning our exploration of Mexico, connected to the monarchs. First step, learning to research and record facts that will be interesting for our audience to learn about.
In literacy/writing we are using our knowledge of identity to map out a main character from a book. This will help us as authors as we create our characters for realistic fiction.
As part of our continuing learning about identity we are creating our own identity webs. We know that some parts of our identity can change. This is the start of Mr Reed’s web.
For science we are using our science notebooks to observe monarch butterflies in their different forms as they transition. And since we have live butterflies in the hub we opened our wall to go back and forth!
We are building a library in our new hub space. We started by making bins of series books and now we are deciding what other categories rest in our library.
