Wow! @ReedsSchool GCSE and A Level Drama pupils were blown away by the extraordinary production of ‘Guys and Dolls’ at the @_bridgetheatre A perfect treat for the end of term.
This half term ended on a real high this week with 3 incredible sell-out performances of #Grease. Our Drama & Music departments excelled themselves with an outstanding and hugely vibrant production. A true celebration of the talented pupils we are lucky to have here at Reed's!
Brilliant to see @ReedsSchool Lower Sixth pupil Darcey in the @Rosetheatre production of ‘A Christmas Carol’. Such an original adaptation and lovingly staged. Great reinforcement of our School Values of #compassion and #responsibility.
The @ReedsSchool Second Form were lucky to see @ReedsAlumni Roger Dipper play Bob Cratchit in the @oldvictheatre version of ‘A Christmas Carol’. This production really encapsulated the school value of Compassion and entertained us all.
@ReedsSchool Fifth Form Drama pupils performed devised work inspired by the work of Stephen Berkoff, while the Fourth Form used the working methods of @ThePaperBirds to explore the theme of trust. Some very imaginative ideas and great performances by all.
Congratulations to the @ReedsSchool GCSE Drama pupils who won the Adjudicator’s Award and was nominated for Technical Excellence at Woking Drama Festival Gala Evening tonight.
So much excitement from @ReedsSchool Close pupils as they auditioned for ‘Hansel and Gretel’ which we will be staging next year. The play is full of humour and will feature a found object band and puppets. #schooldrama
Congratulations to the @ReedsSchool Drama students who performed in the Woking Drama Festival. The adjudicator said it was an ‘inspiring performance’, of an ‘interesting and challenging play. The very physical images were very imaginatively directed and done well by the cast.’
It was said that it was ‘very clever how the performance space was used’ with the technical elements coming together ‘beautifully in the stage presentation’. It had ‘excellent examples of physical theatre’ and that
‘concentration and interaction was absolutely so superb’.
Dance Boot Camp for the @ReedsSchool production of ‘Grease’. Only the second rehearsal and progress is being made quickly. Tickets on sale after half term. #schooldrama
This week it was the turn of @ReedsSchool Fourth Form Drama pupils to go to the @bushtheatre. They absolutely loved ‘Clutch’, giving them much to write about for their live theatre reviews.
Tonight @ReedsSchool Fifth Form Drama pupils are checking out ‘The Crucible’ at the @NationalTheatre and last week Sixth Form students saw ‘The P Word’ at the @bushtheatre. Two thought provoking plays to start a year full of theatre trips. #schooldrama
Too soon to mention the 'C' word but had to post about @ReedsAlumni Roger Dipper (Bl10) appearing in @oldvictheatre's 'A Christmas Carol' as Bob Cratchit. Who can forget his menacing performance in 2010 @ReedsSchool@ReedsDrama production of Sweeney Todd
