Happy Mental Health Day!
#HelpIsHere
Let us be a safe space for our friends and family, and I hope we also make sure our minds are a safe space for us and our thoughts and dreams.
My DMs are always open if you need someone to talk to. (Sometimes the requests just don’t show up so feel free to tag me.)
The #WinRi community is way bigger than @WinRiOFC and the admins. Kung kami lang, alam naman naming matagal na kaming engaged sa political discourse, not just online but even on the streets. Naranasan ko nang maredtag, murahin, at itaboy dahil sa mga pinaglalaban ko.
Paulit-ulit kong sasabihin na this account was started after the joy of getting a stable Senate again after days of the Cayetano bloc not showing up. For the first few members of this community, kilig wasn’t even the door. Kilig was the surprising comfort amidst the dark political realities that persist until today.
As the community grew, Winners started engaging in various ways, from watching Committee hearings and plenary sessions online, to visiting the Senate to watch the impeachment live. Winners have posted about bills, Senate sessions, and the impeachment trial, fact-checked and mass reported fake news posts, and even discussed and debated amongst ourselves on our varying opinions on political issues (kahit minsan nauuwi sa away).
This is why that particular line was painful. I have communicated to Layag 2028 early on that I support and shall await what they have in store since we are happy to welcome the expansion of this community. I even advised them to clarify early that they are not affiliated with the official teams (something WinRiOFC did at the start to make sure we weren’t misrepresenting the Senators’ teams or ourselves).
I was excited for what they had in store and hoped things would be okay. But that line discredits so much of what this community has built and continues to build. That line reduces the political engagement (and for some, political awakening) of Winners to mere kilig and fun that shall be fleeting. That is where I take offense. The line was clear. If the intention was different, then another line or other words should have been used.
don't mistake our kilig for ignorance, or our support for blind loyalty. you can question our commitment without reducing an entire community to a fleeting feeling. and what's with the “kinaadman?” curious lang, are you from the visayas or something? 🧐🤔
@layag2028 this neyshun was never just about kilig or fun. we stand for the values, advocacies, and hope for a better Phils. we don't blindly defend winri - we celebrate their good deeds, hold them accountable when they're wrong, and debunk fake news with facts.

But what if the captains lose the ability to sail their ship? Will their crew stop steering it too?
Winners, if the kilig fades, if the spark evades… will you still sail toward a cause worth believing in?
Will you accept the invitation, hold the course, and see the voyage through… all the way to 2028?

But somewhere down the road,
I know that heart of yours will come to see.

KANINONG PARENTS KA MAKIKINIG?
#SaraOnTrial: Senator-judges Alan Peter Cayetano and Risa Hontiveros weighed in on the use of information from news reports in suspicious transaction reports presented during the impeachment trial.
Cayetano said his parents taught him not to spread gossip he hears because doing so could affect his credibility. Hontiveros, meanwhile, said she was taught not to presume something is gossip until she has heard all sides. #SaraOnTrial

Happy Fourth Monthsary, WinRi nation! 💜 Thank you sa surprise, Mowm @risahontiveros! 🥹 (we didn’t request anything kaya nagulat na lang kami na may biglang sinend na surprise greeting for the monthsary)
WINRI FOURTH MONTHSARY
#iGATCHaRISA
I wrote this with so much doubts and fears, questioning if what I was doing was right.
Now, four months in, legal na legal na tayo sa both sides. I may have not yet met #WinRi in person since this started (masyado akong takot 😭), but seeing this community grow into a politically engaged one and watching their wins, from getting noticed by the Senators online to meeting them in person, always warms my heart. 💜
WINRI FOURTH MONTHSARY

It’s interesting how quickly some people demand a statement from Sen. Risa Hontiveros whenever something happens, then immediately interpret her silence as indifference, complicity, or failure.
Sen. Raffy Tulfo’s “nagpapa-cute” remark regarding the prosecution has understandably generated criticism, particularly given that it appeared to refer to Rep. Bel Zamora. People are free to criticize the remark and to defend Cong. Bel from comments that are inappropriate or misogynistic.
But why is the burden suddenly on Risa to answer for something she did not say?
She was not the senator who made the remark. She was not the person who attacked Cong. Bel. And the absence of an immediate public statement from her should not automatically be treated as an endorsement of what another senator said.
Risa has consistently spoken about women’s rights, gender-based harassment, and safe spaces. That record does not suddenly disappear because she was unable to issue a statement on demand.
There is also something deeply unfair about expecting one woman to constantly police, explain, or publicly condemn the words and behavior of everyone around her simply because she has spent years advocating for women.
Hold Sen. Raffy accountable for Sen. Raffy’s words. Discuss whether his remark was appropriate. Defend Cong. Bel if you want to.
But stop turning Risa into the default spokesperson who must immediately respond every single time something problematic happens.
Advocacy is not measured by how quickly someone can post a statement.
And silence at a particular moment is not automatically consent.
If we genuinely care about holding people accountable, then accountability should begin with the person who actually made the statement, not with the woman everyone expects to clean up after it.
Mama mama, ganyan din ako sumenyas nang palihim kapag may sinend akong message sa kausap ko😌
