@PokerNews @pokrnews @DougPolkVids Want the Lodge (and Poker) to win, but reading Texas statutes and AG opinions, it's an uphill battle if those crimes go to trial.

Looks like the state of Texas can shut down poker if it wants to with laws already in place. The only question is whether they are motivated to now.

The Lodge is in for a fight. Poker is illegal under state law. The things listed as an affirmative defense don't make it "permitted," they must be proved by the defense to prevent the charge from sticking at trial. Procedually, this is like claiming self defense in a murder trial

@Choppodong1 Agreed, if you can put them on KK+ it's a fold, but I don't know that you can with the game the way it is now. That's the big guess, is this jam only KK, AA, and AK? Or does it include a lot of QQ-? I don't think you have the info to really know without any history.

@Choppodong1 There's a small chance they are doing it light (Ax suited combos and smaller pocket pairs). I agree most of the time this range is JJ or better pairs and the other AK combos.

I probably fold that, but I could convince myself to call and not be way off.

@KurtSupeCPA UTMAs and UGMAs don't automatically vest at 18 in every state. Some states allow you to delay this until 25 or so.
