Hello, please can all Secret Santa gifts for Year 5 be in school by Thursday 14th December? If you have any questions, please email the school or speak to Mrs Pryce. Thank you.
We have enjoyed a really wonderful day of WWII Christmas activities at Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre. The children showed off their super jiving and craft skills, plus we saw the incredible 'Just Jane'.
What a fabulous Mocktail Party! Everyone enjoyed their nibbles and drinks - the party games were very energetic! We are now looking forward to our WWII Christmas Trip tomorrow.
We are doing a class Secret Santa. We have all agreed that the maximum amount is £5 or a handmade gift would be lovely! Anonymous parcels in to class by Wednesday 13th December. Any questions, please speak to Mrs Pryce.
We've had a great time sewing this week, inspired by the handmade items created for a traditional, Victorian Christmas. Next week, we will study Christmas during WWII and make a cardboard bauble.
Optional research homework project for this termlet: We have learnt how people from all over the world helped the Allies and the war effort in WWII. Research and draw a blue plaque for someone who deserves to be remembered for their bravery.
This week, we are beginning to plan our diary entries about a cute snowman named Knick Knack. We will also be creating our final recipes for our pasta sauces.
We began our new DT project yesterday and we will be creating our own pasta sauce recipes before actually making our sauces as our end product. Each child will need a clean jar with a screw top lid. These may be brought into school from next week.
At our Harvest Festival next Friday, Year 5 will be performing poems in groups. The children are bringing their poems home as their homework to practise. No-one is expected to be 'off script' for the performance.
Just a reminder that next Wednesday will be photo day. As Yr 5 would normally be in PE kit, please wear normal school uniform from the waist up, with PE joggers or shorts etc.
We have a busy week ahead learning about typography in Art and, in History, the inspiring events of Dunkirk in 1940. If anyone has any WWII stories relating to their family or the local area, Year 5 would love to hear them.
Hello, in Art this termlet we will be studying Typography and next week we will be using objects to create letters. If anyone has any twigs, grasses, leaves and flowers to spare, please bring them to school next Thursday. Thank you.
