It is with a heavy heart that I write this, but I have made the decision to shut down REETG 😔

I have been thinking about his for the last few weeks, and unfortunately after weighing everything up I feel it is the right decision.

The pool has always been running at a loss, and I knew that would be the case to start with, I knew it was not going to be easy to attract delegators - I just didn't realise how difficult it would be.

With the recent lowering of the min pool cost too this now makes it even less viable - yes I know, I could have kept the cost the same, but then I risk losing more delegators to more competitive pools.

Over the last 1 year and 7 months its become very clear that you'll only do well if:

- Your pool has a high ROA which for small pools who don't mint blocks regularly is pretty much impossible
- You spend all day online constantly engaging which I don't have the time to do
- You're actively building on #Cardano, which again I don't have the time to do due to my job

Just running a stake pool for many people doesn't seem like a viable option, and that's fine, it was just hard for me to admit.

I can't keep losing money on this. It may be better during a bull market, it might not, who knows, but I can't keep waiting around to find out.

It feels like the odds are too stacked against me, and honestly seeing some epochs with 0 blocks, or having an epoch with only 2 and then losing one to a slot battle is soul destroying and it does ware me down.

You then have the recent actions of the CF which to be honest left a really sour taste in my mouth.

I love the Cardano community, and I will still be around and doing what I can to promote Cardano on my personal account, I just can't continue to operate a pool.

I'd like to say a huge thank you to my delegators who have stuck with me, please don't feel like I am saying you didn't do enough, you're amazing! It's just I've realised the SPO life isn't for me.
