After the famed cherry trees in Adachi Ward, where the D.C. cherry trees had originated, were destroyed in WWII, the US sent Japan saplings to help rebuild the grove.
Simpson Library has a variety of physical newspapers available for reading, from The Weekly Ringer to the Richmond Times Dispatch and the Washington Post, on the first floor by Reference.
Do you need a book or an article Simpson Library doesn't have access to? You can request it through Interlibrary Loan! Under the "How do I..." side bar on the library homepage, you can login or create an account! Most ILLs will take about 1-2 weeks to arrive.
There are three scanners located on the first floor of the library for both books and documents. Scanned documents can be emailed or downloaded onto a flash drive. Instructions for use can be found beside them, or you can ask a librarian for help!
The library hours are the same, but the Reference Desk will now be open later! Hours for other library services can be found under "Hours and Directions" on the library home page.
Itโs National Day on Writing! Stop by the library to pick up some swag and scan the barcode to get a prompt for the โBad Haikuโ contest! There are signs all over campus with different prompts. Tweet your haiku with #umwbadhaiku and tag @umwlibraries to participate!
