@rajsinghchohan@MartienBall That’s only if you live on the East Coast.
If you live on the West Coast, 12:30pm and 3:00pm kickoffs in England are at 4:30am and 7am respectively. That’s not ideal.
@GiboAgain They went from 0 to 2. If was solely up to Satya, they’d probably exit the hardware space completely and just be a publisher.
Give Asha some time. 😅
@DEXSTR99@kiwitalkz Huh? Steam clearly markets the SteamMachine as a PC.
And who doesn’t refer to Helix as a PC?
It’s clearly marketed as a PC that is also capable of playing Xbox (digital) games that were formerly only playable on Xbox consoles.
@kiwitalkz Realistically, no single game would create the FOMO needed to convert someone completely apathetic about Xbox to being all-in instantly.
This appears to be a multi-year goal with the hope that in 3-5 years, a collective mass of exclusives would compel many more people to buy.
@Romudeth If Microsoft prefers gamers to buy the game outright, they shouldn’t put it on GamePass.
Shaming people into paying more than necessary for access to a good is absurd.
The onus is on Xbox to put forth the best business strategy for its games; the consumer isn’t to blame.
@AsukalAspuria@Robert_Morison The real profit is made on software, not hardware sales.
The console is just one convenient medium through which (gaming) software is delivered to consumers.
If you buy & play Xbox software with your desktop, laptop, & handheld, I’m sure Microsoft is still very happy. 😅
@TheEggman64 The loss of additional revenue by not publishing on other platforms is probably too much for Microsoft corp or their recently acquired publishers to pass up on.
If the install base grows again, I think you’ll see more exclusives announced.
It’s a kind of a catch-22 moment.
