🌉 Zouch Bridge Opens – Delivering for Leicestershire
The new £19.6m Zouch Bridge is now open to local traffic.
While the project began before Reform took office, our administration kept it on track and delivered it for residents, businesses and the local economy.
🎥 WATCH: Reform takes action on HMOs.
Reform UK’s Martin England secured the passing of a motion calling for greater transparency over Government illegal immigrant accommodation, giving councils more notice and information to help plan local services and represent residents. 👇🏼
🚨 BREAKING: Reform UK Leicestershire forced a vote against housing illegal immigrants in HMOs in their local communities.
It passed. The Council will now write to the Home Office demanding action and transparency.
🎥 My speech at Leicestershire County Council today on the motion against housing illegal immigrants in HMOs.
Even when it’s uncomfortable and we may face criticism, we stand up for what we believe in and fight for our residents and communities. 👇🏼
The reality is simple, shipping illegal immigrants into our towns and villages puts massive pressure on housing and services.
Many come from cultures with completely different values, particularly around women and girls, and residents are rightly worried about the impact on their areas.
We’re standing up for local people first. More to come shortly. 🇬🇧
Below is the official motion Reform UK councillors are bringing to Leicestershire County Council’s Full Council meeting tomorrow on the impact of housing illegal aliens in HMOs across our communities.
This is a serious and growing problem that too many refuse to talk about honestly.
Residents are seeing their areas changed beyond recognition, with concentrated HMOs full of illegal aliens putting massive pressure on housing, services, parking and waste.
Many of these individuals come from cultures where the worst attitudes towards women and girls are tolerated, medieval views on women’s rights that are completely incompatible with British values.
This isn’t just about numbers. It’s about devaluing properties, ruining quality of life for long standing residents, and the very real risks to women and children and general safety in our communities.
The motion calls for transparency, proper consultation, and accountability from the Home Office instead of just dumping the problem on Leicestershire.
Enough is enough.
Tomorrow we’ll be speaking the uncomfortable truth and fighting for our residents and our communities to be put first. 🇬🇧
The latest Leicestershire County Council Treasury Management Report makes it very clear: Reform UK is the responsible party when it comes to council finances.
In just one year we’ve repaid tens of millions of inherited Tory debt, brought the council’s borrowing down to its lowest level in recorded history, delivered the lowest council tax rise in over a decade, and freed up more money for frontline services.
After 24 years of Conservative control at County Hall, what did they actually achieve with the finances?
The difference is night and day. Reform came in and made seismic changes and we’re only getting started.
Before Reform took control, hardly anyone talked about what the council was doing. Now the opposition and the fake news media scrambles to find negatives because they can’t handle the fact we’re delivering real, exceptional results for taxpayers.
This is what good governance looks like. 🇬🇧
