There is zero moral difference between the Aztec who murders a born child to make the sun rise and the American who murders a preborn child because they hate responsibility.
Made in the image of God and worthy of the life God gave them. God is the giver of life, He alone decides the outcome and number of our days.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
(Psalm 139:16)
Actually you’re making some good observations!
God is indeed the potter and has a right over his handiwork. Just like if you made a clay pot, it becomes your property, your creation. You dictate its use, the pot does not decide for itself
He made you as His crown of creation. Your brain is a marvel of God’s creative power and ability. There is nothing like it anywhere in the universe. And like the potter, He made is for use, for His purposes. It’s His right to choose.
Jesus wasn’t put off by the woman at the well.
Everybody else saw the scandal. He saw the thirst.
I think about her standing beneath that noon sun, choosing the heat on her skin over the sting of their whispers. As a pastor, I have watched shame do that to people. It teaches them which doors to avoid..which hour feels safest to be unseen.
Jesus knew the whole story and He stayed.
Five husbands and a man in her house who was not her husband. A soul tired from drinking at wells that could never satisfy.
Christ named the truth without crushing the woman, then offered her living water.
Soon she ran back into the town that knew her reputation and said, “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” (John 4:29).
The woman who came alone left carrying a message. He came for people like her.
Parents, if your unborn child has been diagnosed with Downs Syndrome or any genetic disorder, please choose life.
Don’t deprive the world of the joy of a human being with special needs. They need love, too.
Love you all! ❤️
@Midgard_Walker@5Solas We pray according to His will, not our own. That’s how God saves us from our own self-centered “prayers”. It is not blasphemy to ask God to bless and save others. That’s what He came to do.
That’s viewing things through a jaundiced eye. I did that too.
“Come all ye and I will give you rest” are not the words of a tyrant. A tyrant doesn’t warn of an impending judgement and offer their own life in exchange for our amnesty, and restoration of that which was LOST in sin, that is, our eternal life and fellowship with God.
He keeps His promises. I was enslaved to alcohol, pornography and lying and anger. He’s not a self-help program or a get-out-jail-free card. He’s good Father who jealously loves His children. That’s far more than I can say about Satan, who led me into a place I could not get out of on my own, and would do so again if he could.
My prayer list got a little longer today, Midgard. God bless you and yours.
It’s true I could be out doing other things as well. But I wanted you to know that those whom the Father sets free, are free indeed. Free not to follow the desires of my carnal nature. That looks like slavery to those who freely practice such things.
Paul stated that He was a prisoner of Christ. When you are a prisoner of Christ, the lock is one the inside of the cell, not outside. I could walk away, but where would I go?
I’d much rather be a slave to Christ than a slave to sin. I know what that slavery feels like. But His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He stayed with me when all others deserted me. God has never abused me. No one who truly knows Him will ever be able to say that.
Being a heathen can’t be any fun. You would think now that they are free from the “shackles of religion” that they would be out living this great life of self fulfillment without fear or even a thought of offending any “make-believe god”.
Instead they’re here taking shots at those who are actually free in Christ. No thanks.
