A government that only reacts to problems is always one step behind them.
Good governance asks a different question:
What will this policy need tomorrow?
Circumstances change.
Demographics change.
Education changes.
Employment changes.
Economic conditions change.
India is changing. The economy is changing. Laws are changing. Society is changing.
But apparently, some policies come with a “Do Not Touch” sticker. 😏
If reform is good enough for everything else, why not reservation policy?

A policy can create access.
But the bigger question is:
Does it create opportunity?
Does it reach those who remain behind?
Does it help people become more independent?
Does it improve mobility?
Does it remove barriers—or simply manage them?

@VoiceOfBrahmins The protesters asked for structural reform. The system offered a meeting. And suddenly some people started treating the appointment letter as a victory certificate. #vishvaguru#reservationreformandolan
@Harshdubey9956 If the demands are unchanged, publish them. If the demands have changed, explain who changed them. Everything else is just press-conference theatre.
@romita_tiwari The youth didn't ask politicians whom to vote for. They asked whether a decades-old policy deserves a data-driven review. If even that question threatens the political establishment, perhaps the real problem isn't the protest—it is the fear of the answer. #democracy
@SonOfBharat7 Delhi asked the question. Lucknow held the press conference. The Centre is still ‘being approached.’ Somewhere between all three, accountability seems to have gone on leave. #reservationreformandolan
@LJP4India@iChiragPaswan If the existing reservation system is beyond criticism, perhaps politicians should stop calling themselves reformers and start calling themselves its permanent trustees. #vishavguru
@Mayawati A young person questioning reservation is apparently controversial. A politician defending the status quo for electoral arithmetic is apparently ‘social justice.’ Interesting dictionary. #constitution#democracy
@yadavakhilesh This is not about hatred.
This is about fairness.
Not against a community.
Not against anyone's dignity.
For a reservation system that keeps evolving with India.
#Reservation_Rectification
@brajeshpathakup If the Centre is supposed to decide, why is the UP Deputy CM announcing the roadmap? And if UP can solve it, why did anyone bother going to Delhi?
If government employment represents only a small share of India’s employment landscape, should equal-opportunity policy also focus on creating opportunities beyond government jobs? #government#jobs#reservations
A policy can have a powerful slogan.
A powerful speech.
A powerful political campaign behind it.
But none of that tells us whether it works.
The real test is simple:
Did lives improve?
Did opportunity expand?
Did the intended beneficiaries actually benefit?
Did the gaps reduce?
Before debating percentages, categories & quotas, let's ask the most fundamental question:
What problem was reservation created to solve—& how do we know whether that objective is being achieved?
Questioning policy is not opposing social justice.
It is demanding accountability
