@BatmanJ27190203 @AdamPage85 It's not referencing random women. It's referencing women that would fill the role of servant. Which is why Paul say likewise after "women" like he does with the male deacons in v8.

@BatmanJ27190203 @AdamPage85 Yes your are. When you use scriputre to interpret scripture you are petitioning the text of scripture for an answer. In examining the text in context, you are asking God what he means rather than trusting your own understanding.

@BatmanJ27190203 @AdamPage85 Those who serve are servants, whether the official office is being referenced or not. Not ever reference to servants is a reference to the office, sometimes its a reference to people who are serving.

The office of pastor/elder also has authority over the church and is responsible for the preaching of the word and the administration of the communion and baptism. It's important to understand these responsibilities to know who God says can do them.

But refusing theology is rejecting the command of scripture to teach and receive sound doctrine.
