@ShitpostRock2 @AgreeingBook13 Outside of elemental & status resists, armor was such a scam in 2 and 3.
You have to level up your equip load, ruin your stamina regen, & make more noise just so you can take like 10% reduced damage over naked/rags. Oh and poise is almost entirely useless too...

Then they bought or cracked down on those and are trying to make their own. Subscription servers, rulebooks, monster manuals, "DLC" books, maps, modules (pre-made stories), etc

@ShitpostRock2 My hot take is that I actually like the Nilfgard armor (by itself). Is it fitting for their army or the setting or even look cool? Of course not.
But I could totally see it worn by minions of a necromancer. Some shitty scrotum-looking boiled leather armor made from monster hide.

@lordvictor TNG's LCARS is a nice middle ground for random science bullshit on the background screens while still looking believable enough. It does get really silly when they actually interact with it and press buttons, though.
Also the techno-babble is surprisingly good too.
