I've come to understand that Warhammer 40,000 as a franchise is a litmus test for how politically intoxicated people are.

A normal person will see a dark, over the top, hyperviolent exploration of the indomitable human spirit in the face of a universe that hates us.

A culture war weirdo will stare at it, missing the obvious themes, and inject their world views into the conversation without actually engaging with the media itself.

A normal person will seek to understand the Imperium as a faction and how it got to the current state it's in.

A culture war weirdo will assume it just is that way and turn to out of context real world politics.

A normal person will see Xenos and Chaos as alien and daemonic monsters attacking humanity for the mere "crime" of existing.

A culture war weirdo will see "representations of real world minority groups."

Be a normal person and engage with the franchise honestly. No one likes a weirdo after all.
