@PalmerLuckey@BalaSelvam@ABC One of my favorite genres of X posts is when @PalmerLuckey goes direct. This is a lesson for founders, industry leaders, and the like- do not accept becoming a hostage to low-effort journalism, media sloppiness and agendized reporting.
@Cernovich When I first got married in '98, I rented us a house for $425 a month. Today, that exact same house rents for $2,400/mo. Different universes.
There are still lots of people using "that wasn't on my bingo card" and "thank you for coming to my Ted Talk" jokes in the current year and I believe those people should all be arrested and thrown into a volcano. I'm sorry but I don't know what other choice we have at this point
@EdLatimore Yeah, you blink and the time's gone. I used to hold my boys like little footballs when they were first born. Now they're taller than me and I think, how'd that happen?
In a way biz is the opposite of school. Keep trying a bunch of stuff and if it fails you are getting better anyway
School teaches people they have to pass the exam or else they fail. Biz is reverse. Try a bunch otherwise you will fail.
When I was nine, our teacher made us write letters to "our heroes" for a writing unit. Most kids chose their parents, or Michael Jordan, or the President. For some reason, I was deeply obsessed with the golden age of piracy, so I wrote my letter to Blackbeard. It was a very aggressive letter demanding to know where he hid his treasure and warning him that "the British Navy is coming for you." My teacher, Mrs. Gable, instead of explaining that Blackbeard had been dead since 1718, actually looked up a historical museum in Ocracoke, North Carolina, and mailed the letter there. Three months later, I got a package at school. It was a hand-stained parchment scroll sealed with actual red wax. The museum staff had written back in character as Blackbeard’s ghost, telling me the treasure was "buried in the minds of those who read books" (which was a bit of a cop-out, honestly), but they also included a replica Spanish piece of eight. I was the coolest kid in third grade for a week.
How could a man that could only communicate at one word per minute produce so many pages of text? We investigate Stephen Hawking and discover that his story doesn't add up.

Sorry, but I just check out on this stuff these days. I'm 54 I've been hearing these crap imminent civilizational collapse fairytales for 40+ years. I remember people saying the US government was going to collapse in the 1980s when the nat'l debt was $2 billionish.

I was afraid of having kids my whole life and days after my first I am so mad at myself for not starting sooner.
This is the absolute best.
I love this little stinker so freaking much.
Find a good woman and have kids. ASAP. Churn em out.
The Heritage American debate isn’t just about severing your connection to the American past.
The more sinister idea is that what you do today carries no inheritance forward.
Serve your country. Build something. Sacrifice. Endure. Die for it.
Then be told your descendants have no special claim to your story, no right to take pride in your sacrifice, no deeper connection because of what you gave.
Once you convince a people that inheritance, lineage, and posterity mean nothing, you’ve weakened one of the oldest reasons men sacrifice for a future they’ll never live to see.
That is fertile ground for any system that wants loyalty transferred from family and inheritance to the state.
“Jesse is a friend, he’s establishing that” hahaha
People are really figuring out how depraved the boomers were.
Rick Springfield also admitted to killing a random Vietnamese guy when you toured there. True story
