@WhatsWrightShow My 5 month old son and I are rolling with KC because Mahomes is THAT DUDE
Also fun fact, Niners are favored but Mahomes has the shortest odds to win SB MVP? Sounds like Niners fans have some doubts…
Give me Chiefs to win and Mahomes for MVP! #neveradoubt
@RSAdiamondtales@juphoff@CodifyBaseball A rule of thumb I use is this:
As an official, I know (in theory) what the pitcher can and can’t do, as per the rule book. If the pitcher fools me with their move, it might be a balk. In this specific clip, I’d be asking myself if I had him stepping towards home. Yes=balk
@juphoff@RSAdiamondtales@CodifyBaseball That’s fair- I just wanted to point out that deceiving is covered in the book.
And fwiw, I agree with your take about how pitchers are supposed to deceive within the confines of the rule. Brilliant way to think about it, really.
@juphoff@RSAdiamondtales@CodifyBaseball This is a balk because the pitcher failed to step directly towards first base in his pickoff attempt. It can also be argued that his “intent” was to deliberately deceive the base runner into thinking he was throwing home, and can also be ruled a balk based on the quote above.
@juphoff@RSAdiamondtales@CodifyBaseball This isn’t totally true though:
Rule 6.02 (a) comment: Umpires should bear in mind that the purpose of the ball rule is to prevent the pitcher from deliberately deceiving the base runner. If there is doubt in the umpire’s mind, the “intent” of the pitcher should govern.
@Yamirawr28@bbrode Imagine calling for a card to be nerfed when you could, idk….play around and plan for a card you apparently see all the time. What a novel concept
@Grohlvana I believe it’s better than the Dark Souls board game and I think that Bloodborne is made by CMON…if you can find it on sale at some point, probably a good pickup.
@PokeKellz So sorry for yours and @FacianeA ‘s loss. His celebrity appearances on Beard Bros always made me and my wife laugh and smile. Wallace was the best boi and he will be dearly missed.
