EveryDoctor is being attacked today for raising funds to build a whistleblowing platform. I am appalled by this. Our encrypted email address and our work bringing frontline testimony into the public domain helped to lift the lid on what was happening during the pandemic. The…
My disappointment in @RishiSunak over this and a litany of other failings will be represented at the ballot box. Only one vote but if others think agree; in aggregate the Conservatives will not be in power for years after the GE. Then, they must be held to account individually.
Junior doctors carry the cardiac arrest bleep, verify deaths, break news to patients & their families that they’re dying, manage heart attacks, strokes, major haemorrhages.
All, sometimes, for £14.09ph.
@RishiSunak won’t increase that rate to £19.
And *he’s* disappointed???
I'm calling for the RESIGNATION of the BBC Board Director Robbie Gibb, former Tory Comms boss & co-founder of right wing GB NEWS, on grounds of lack of impartiality...quotes from 2020 @BylineTimes

Lazy analysis of what happened and I suspect the public perception was more of @GaryLineker famous former England player who was commenting. On that basis Kate you might want to stir up the FA too as I’m pretty sure that his football reputation preceded any role with the BBC
Gary Lineker is entitled to his views - he is not entitled to use his privileged position as a BBC commentator to preach when he is paid by the licence fee to comment on football. It is a publicly owned broadcaster .If he doesn’t like that he can go to a privately run TV station
The BBC is demonstrating to the whole world precisely how corrupted its news values have become. That once great international reputation for impartiality - swapped for the perception of government lapdog. What a wretched shame. https://t.co/6Hh70hDBLS
@RichFenton @campbellclaret BBC is very relevant. The political and bungled management is what undermines it. Not unlike the NHS, the Post Office etc., Public ownership does not mean political or indeed, ‘politicians’ ownership to do with as they please.
The BBC has fallen to the fascists https://t.co/REHWiQCUdj What a desperate day when both Gary Lineker and David Attenborough are banned from the BBC for telling the truth. It would seem that the fight for the very survival of democracy is on.
So, this afternoon the BBC gives in to fascists over Gary Lineker’s support for asylum seekers and on David Attenborough’s desire to highlight the impact of climate change. Fascism isn’t a threat. It is happening here and now, with the BBC enabling it.
Meanwhile the combination of right wing bullshittery and BBC management cowardice and politicisation continues … BBC will not broadcast Attenborough episode over fear of rightwing backlash | BBC | The Guardian https://t.co/juUb3sRtz1
Labour: “The BBC’s cowardly decision to take Gary Lineker off air is an assault on free speech in the face of political pressure. Tory politicians lobbying to get people sacked for disagreeing with Government policies should be laughed at, not pandered to. BBC should rethink.”
I’m not sure when they suggested to Gary Lineker he step back from #MOTD the bbc realised it might be starting a much much bigger battle. @IanWright0 refusing to present on Saturday. In the name of solidarity
Appalled by how cravenly the BBC is caving to political pressure. Thank you @GaryLineker for standing up for decency, free speech & all those who are dehumanised & demonised by a grubby strand of UK populism. https://t.co/3wWs1npoet
. @GaryLineker asked to step back from hosting a FOOTBALL show because he has a personal opinion on something important.
Let's talk RICHARD SHARP, current BBC Chairman under 2 dodgy investigations for giving Tory party £400,000 in donations and organising £800k loan for Johnson 🙄
I don't think Johnson should be allowed to nominate anyone in an Honours List. He doesn't know what honour is.
The only thing he's achieved is to place our entire political system into question where we now doubt our own democracy
Has the @bbc actually analysed @GaryLineker’s tweet? Because it is factually accurate. A lot of the tropes used now by Govt: ‘invasion’, ‘menace’ etc, are pretty similar to those used by nationalist parties in 1930s Germany. Why no analysis? Are BBC history presenters muted too?
