Regan Bartel

26th season calling play-by-play for Kelowna Rockets. Five years SC Broncos. 31st overall. Born Saskatchewan tough. Now BC soft. Greatest fear? Losing my voice!

The good news is the Rockets lead after two periods.

The Royals are 6-0-0-0 when leading after 40 minutes.

Need a good push in the final 20!!

The Kelowna Rockets scored goals from Cole Braunshausen and Dawson Gerwing to build a 4-1 lead.

Sadly, the Royals strike with 3 seconds left in the period.

It's 4-2 for the Rockets after 40 minutes.

Shots: 19 apiece.

[Regan Bartel @Reganrant]

Solid start for the Kelowna Rockets.

Royals look a little sleepy early, which is typical of a team coming off a 5 game road trip.

[Rocket Fan @RocketFANdotca]

Tomas Poletin scored a power-play goal 54 seconds into the opening faceoff, and then collects his 5th of the campaign on a miscue by the Royals' goaltender behind the net.

The Royals' goal comes on a 5-on-3 power play.

2-1 after 20 minutes.

Shots: 11-10 Victoria.

@EGunn97 I blame my comments on the Prospera Place cheeseburger I consumed pregame.

[Regan Bartel @Reganrant]

@SonnyDoney97 It shouldn’t have ended. That’s bad for business.

[Regan Bartel @Reganrant]

A scrambly second.

Puck bouncing a ton.

Like a tennis ball…no wait…a pickle ball.

The Winterhawks with a power play goal.

It is 2-1 Portland after 40 minutes.

Shots 29-22 Kelowna.

The Winterhawks open the scoring but the @Kelowna_Rockets get it back on a power play goal from Jacob Henderson.

It’s 1-1 after 1 period.

Shots 18-8 Kelowna.

[Regan Bartel @Reganrant]

I used this fun fact on Friday’s broadcast.

Kelowna and Portland the only two teams without a captain.

There goes that theory.

[Portland Winterhawks @pdxwinterhawks]

you C what we see? 👀

The @Kelowna_Rockets decide on a captain

We’ll leave Madden Daneault out of the equation for now, but these four are off to a terrific start. 👇

Two goals 51 seconds apart hurts.

3-2 Prince George after 40 minutes.

Shots 21-17 Kelowna.

As expected - feisty.

Peyton Kettles fights Jett Lajoie.

It’s Kettles first tilt since November 23/2024…or 693 days between chucking the knuckles.
