🎉 Reggie turns 5 today! 🐾
In 5 years he’s supported pro athletes, emergency services & some of society’s most vulnerable. More than a therapy dog—he’s a trusted teammate, bringing calm, comfort & connection wherever he goes. #nfrs#MentalHealthSupport#canineconcern
🔥 Delighted to accept a Chief’s Certificate of Recognition for my work developing the @nottsfire CRISIS Team. We have 24 awesome Facilitators across the service providing effective support following #stress and #trauma.
Uniquely, our CRISIS Team provides services for both operational and non-operational staff, by augmenting the natural integration of painful experiences in a directive, and yet #personcentred approach that doesn’t require analysis, interpretation, or judgment of any kind.
Our team has literally saved lives - you don’t get more impactful than that. We don’t just refer on the basis of a tick box exercise - we provide direct interventions that help people when they actually need it.
I’m keen to bring CRISIS to more Fire Services, if you’d like to learn more about the training, and how we’ve developed our team, let me know.
CRISIS Facilitators speak the same language, because they’ve been there.
What a fantastic day for @nottsfire - today was the official launch of our Healthy Minds Staff Network. Today’s event was hosted over two locations with over 45 people attending. I hope the network grows and supports our staff. I feel extremely proud to be involved with it all.❤️
@nottsfire Healthy Minds Network had a walk and talk meeting yesterday around Sherwood Pines. It’s great to talk to people, and it’s even better when people want to listen. ❤️🚒
A nice morning spent with our new @nottsfire Watch Managers discussing critical incidents, trauma, and the CRISIS model we use to help firefighters through psychological adversity.
🔥 After 4 days of very intense and challenging learning, new members of the @nottsfire CRISIS team are now able to safely and effectively support their colleagues in both individual and group contexts. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotion and discovery, and I’m so proud of them!
