Breaking: Next season's big Duke-Michigan game that was initially announced for MSG is being moved, sources told @CBSSports. The teams are finalizing plans to play at the home of the Miami Marlins. Yes, a baseball stadium.
Here's the story behind the saga:https://t.co/tgG0WfPMOC
Victor Wembanyama has impacted the NBA more than just a player. A true professional the way he carries himself, how he is with teammates, fans & media. Plays hard and with emotion. The NBA needs this.
"Today was a really good conversation and Nick Saban made a lot of good points..
A big message here was the threat to Olympic sports and women's sports" ~ @CFBHeather#PMSLive
Again the need to have control over NIL make no sense. That should be btw a company, the athletes and their agents. Athletes should get these deals on their own with their agent.
This would significantly change the House settlement.👇
Like third party NIL agreements now, school rev share agreements would have to be for a valid biz purpose & within an arbitrary “range of compensation.”
Rev share agreements aren’t currently subject to review/CSC approval.
Some billionaires are going to start a separate pro type league for college age players. Will put a cap on age and pay them. The players will be responsible for getting their own endorsement deals.
Cantwell just acknowledged part of the reasoning behind this bill is to get rid of a “pay for play” system, so trying to move backwards.
Continuing to fight “pay for play” is one of college athletics’ biggest problems right now.
Better to just admit the truth & move forward.
1st thing is athletes should control getting their own NIL deals. 2nd schools need a salary cap. 3rd. My company can help schools generate additional revenue streams.

Legendary former Alabama football coach Nick Saban issues a stark warning on the devastating trajectory of college sports under current NIL rules.
"It's become an arms race, who spends the most has got the best chance to win.”
“But I think it's a race to the bottom because if you don't spend to win, you lose your fan base and you don't have any revenue."
Schools should have a set salary cap to pay their teams. When it comes to NIL they should be hands off and let the players and their agents get the endorsement deals like the pros. This would eliminate all the people trying to be involved and control the players money
Saban’s testimony shows a divide that still exists in college athletics.
He essentially states he’s fine with college athletes being paid NIL compensation by third parties (“true NIL”), but not by schools (which is really pay for athletic services).

Matthew McConaughey reveals how turning down a $14,500,000 movie offer changed his career
“This offer comes in for this action comedy. $8M offer. I read it and said no thank you that's the stuff I'm not doing... they come back with a $14.5M offer. I said let me read that again”
“I'd read it again. It's the same words that were in the $8M offer that I said no to but it was better written, it was funnier, I could see myself in it. I could make this work”
“Anyway, I ultimately said no. I don't have any proof of it but I think that me saying no to that $14.5M offer, a year into me leaving and saying no more romcoms, I think me doing that sent the message to Hollywood”
“Oh, McConaughey is not bluffing. What’s he up to? He’s turned down $14.5M. Oh, he’s not for rent. Oh, maybe a little more attractive”
“20 months after I stepped out. All of a sudden those offers came in and I was off and I grabbed a hold of all of them I could and loved doing them”
“Would those have come if I'd have never stepped out? No, they wouldn't have”
How in the hell you tell a 22 year old NBA athlete that $200 million is not a lot of money because they are starting from zero??? You can say if you don’t manage it you can be broke in a year. But to tell them it’s not a lot of money? Wow.
Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul says $200 million isn't as much money as athletes think
"I got guys, 22, making $200 million over the next four or five years. I'm constantly telling them that's not a lot of money based upon where you're starting, because you're starting from zero"
"How do we understand how to compound that. Everyone's not going to play into their 40s. They're done when they're 33. They're paying a 51–55% tax"
"Not to mention jeans today, the ones they want that they're buying in excess, which they probably don't really need, cost $2,000"
"No athlete can afford to fly private all the time, yet we see so many athletes on Instagram flying private"
"I fly Delta. I cannot afford to fly private, and that's okay with me. I'm just trying to get where I'm trying to go to make the money. I'm not trying to spend the money"
"The times I do fly private, you will never see it on Instagram because it's not for show"
Sometimes in life you must make tough decisions, that are the best decisions, but not the decisions you wanted to make.
What are you willing to sacrifice to accomplish your goals or help someone accomplish theirs?
Facts. Must take the risk to do something no one else is doing to make a real difference. And it’s not about reinventing the wheel, it’s about taking the wheel and creating a different direct and path that no one has seen.
