The last week of July, Alabama's parole board denied release to 97% of people eligible for parole whose cases came before them. They granted just 3 paroles out of 92 cases considered. The parole board should be dissolved. Put a closed sign on the building. It's a sham.

1/ The Tweet about the officer involved beaten and death of Mr. Murray at Elmore was deleted in light of the fact that Mr. Murray was beaten by officers before he ever came into contact with the two incarcerated individuals that are also charged in the homicide.

What I've heard from Alabama prisons this week: homeless men sleep on prison sidewalk, a man is kidnapped/held hostage/burned inside a prison & an officer is charged with murder after man is beaten to death at end of 20-year sentence. But we just need bigger buildings right?

@DavidLeegarlock @AggravatingCir1 With the amount we are overcrowded in our prisons the new ones won’t make a dent in it. If the DOJ would step in and follow through with the ongoing lawsuit it might make a difference but Alabama has proven they don’t care what the feds say.

We have to find someone to hold the parole board accountable and I feel like the only way to do that is to effect their pocket book. Make them do their job or get the hell out.

Advocates, reporters, and families have to come together and hold not only our parole board accountable but also our governor and everyone else in power that refuses to address the unjustness of our corrupt parole board. SO ETHING HAS TO BE DONE NOW. Time is running out for many
