In 2020 when I was a student rep, there were at least 25 students that I know of that were behind on paychecks. When I brought it to the attention of the pres at the GC: blank stares and platitudes. It was “out of our hands” and not their problem.

Our solution was to add a buffer to the system, so that if/when funding was held up (as was happening more and more with the pandemic) the students can still receive a paycheck to pay rent and buy food in one of the most expensive cities in the country

It is highly concerning to see such deep issues continue to go unaddressed by the senior administration.

This remains the case even after years now of students/faculty shedding light on the issues…
