A halqa meeting was held today at Pati Shallabug by Gulzar Ahmad Khan, under the leadership of the District President Ganderbal, Sheikh Gayas Din.

During the event, Gulzar Ahmad Khan expressed his gratitude to the youth and local party cadre for actively addressing public issues and strengthening the party at the grassroots level.

Allah is kind. My father had a very close shave. The details are sketchy at the moment but what is known is that a man with a loaded pistol was able to get within point blank range & discharge a shot. It was only the close protection team that deflected the shot & ensured that the assassination attempt failed. There are more questions than answers at the moment including but not limited to how someone was able to get this close to a Z+ NSG protected former CM.

Rise of misinformation on Twitter (Now X) After Elon Musk’s Takeover.

The culture of hatred, communalism, and racism in society is normalised. Many policies today appear to divide people rather than unite them, often appear to favour one side over the other.

Researchers and monitoring organizations have reported an increase in the circulation of provocative news and opinions, and X favours these with more visibility and engagement.

This acquisition was completed in October 2022 for about $44 billion and it brought major structural and policy changes that affected how content is moderated and distributed.

One of the most significant changes was a large reduction in staff. After the takeover, thousands of employees were laid off, including many who worked in trust and safety teams responsible for monitoring harmful content, misinformation, and coordinated influence campaigns. Now with fewer moderation staff, several experts have warned that enforcing platform policies could become more difficult.

Another major shift was the change to the verification system. Previously, the blue verification badge was given to notable public figures, journalists, and organizations after identity verification. After the introduction of the paid subscription service, users could obtain the blue checkmark by paying a monthly fee.

In its early days, this easy verification led to several fake accounts briefly appearing with verification badges, causing confusion. The platform temporarily paused and modified the feature.

Now, the platform has expanded a crowdsourced fact-checking feature known as Community Notes. It allows users from different viewpoints to add context to posts that may contain misleading or incomplete information. Notes become visible when contributors broadly agree they are helpful, which the platform says helps provide additional context without removing posts.

We all agree that misinformation is a challenge across many social media platforms and published studies after 2022 indicate that policy changes, moderation capacity, and platform design can significantly influence the spread of misinformation.

As X continues to evolve, we as users must be vigilant, aware and fact check.

While the world is still making sense of the intensifying loss every passing minute, Kashmir gathered to mourn peacefully in the morning.

The assassination carried out in Iran is a criminal act and it is denying the dignity even to the livings who are not allowed to grieve.

Who has the right to mourn?
What power restricts grieving and where?

People in Delhi visited Iran Cultural House to pay their tribute. Kashmir's sorrow, and its solidarity is suppressed with the clearance and closure of Ghanta Ghar.
