@AnthonyClose There’s a design in the Netherlands call “fietstraat” where cars are guests. Speeds are slow. Everyone uses the road safely.

@AnthonyClose @MyFDOT_Tampa Expanding highways is insanely expensive and it never actually makes commutes faster. It will fill with cars quickly due to induced demand. That same money could be put to better use finding rail transit from st pete to Tampa

Did you know that interstate 175 floods during large rain events? This renders it a liability, not an asset for emergency vehicle access to the hospitals or as an evacuation route. This roadway is a burden on the city, especially on days like today.

175 flooded this morning. This roadway is a liability not an asset. A boulevard would allow for new drainage systems to be put in place and Booker creek naturalization to limit flooding. It’s time to get serious about replacing it.

@AnthonyClose It’s offensive that he doesn’t seem to even think about the massive park that is directly south of the divisive interstate. What really needs to happen is the interstate be converted to a boulevard and the nieghborhoods and grid reconnected to expand the walkable grid
