#N660rn M8 Twitter has become a very important avenue for leadership throughout the MSN journey. Twitter has allowed me to access different types of leadership information, policy and advocacy that I can use toward optimal nurse leadership progressive improvement. @ProfLacasse
@ProfLacasse I started following @LUnderwood630 who is an RN who recently became and IL congresswoman. She plans to fight toward healthcare equality and taking her RN views all the way to the national stage of Washington DC. M6
#N660rn M6 Nurse leaders must demonstrate accountability and trust to influence others. With so many aspects of healthcare today it is important that leaders are able to ensure trust in those they work with and be there when it really counts! @ProfLacasse
#N660rn M5 The future of nursing requires the nurse leaders to think outside the box on how we can influence & guide healthcare change. We must become a driving force in hospital administration & patient advocacy not only at the bedside but also in the boardroom @ProfLacasse
#N660rn M4 The TCM ensures that high risk patients such as older adults are provided the resources they need to maintain quality of life living with chronic illness. TCM framework makes sure there is support in all aspects of health outside the hospital setting. @ProfLacasse
#N660rn M3 Care coordination is such a crucial aspect of healthcare today. It's importance ranges from birth, through life, illness and can really make a difference at end of life. Palliative care coordination is easily overlooked but a crucial piece to the puzzle! @ProfLacasse
#N660rn Professional networking allows us, as nurse leaders, to not only advance our own practice but also to improve what our institution is working toward. By leaning on our professional network we learn to utilize all resources toward high quality work/care. M2 @ProfLacasse
#N660rn I have chosen to follow @donberwick His work with IHI and CMS forced the healthcare community to continually strive for excellence. His focus on ever evolving quality and safety, policies and practice, work toward constant healthcare improvement. M2 @ProfLacasse
#N660rn I chose to follow @ANANursingWorld because their continuous work to unite nurses toward optimal quality care. #PamelaCipriano focus on quality has led nursing in America toward safe, cohesive healthcare through policy and practice reform. M2 @ProfLacasse
#N545rn M7 Policy is a crucial element of nursing leadership. With effective policy we achieve consistency. As a nurse leader I plan to challenge current policy and constantly do what is best for our patients and fellow nurses. Policy evolution for care improvement! @Prof_JStein
#N545rn M6 Medicare fee4service is often abused in north AZ. I see it in abuse of airvac resources. Constantly transferring patients to FLG in high risk rotors, when they are not critically ill. This behavior can endanger patient and flight crew lives unnecessarily.@Prof_JStein
#N545rn M4 Currently only 14 states in the US have safe staffing legislation protecting patients and nurses. CA is the only state with mandated staffing ratios. Federal law for minimal nurse ratios would promote safety for patients and nurses throughout the US. @Prof_JStein
@Prof_JStein I did post a text comment on March 15 to the module 1 Voice Thread. Can you not see it? I just searched the comments and found it. Please let me know if I am doing this wrong. Thank you Professor Stein!
#N545rn My name is Kathleen Reisner. I am currently a charge nurse in the CVICU at Flagstaff Medical Center in northern Arizona. My current knowledge of policy simply involves performing it, looking forward to learn more about development, plan and implementation. M1 @Prof_JStein
#N545rn M2 I have chosen the issue of safe staffing ratios for my policy project. Currently H.R.2392 Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act of 2017 was introduced as a bill on 5/4/17 and later sent to the subcommittee on health. @Prof_JStein
#N545rn M1 I am following the @AACNme The AACN plays a huge role in the improvement of critical care nurses through RN certifications, research, policy changes and continuing education. @Prof_JStein
