🇭🇹 This is Konpa—a Haitian cultural dance rooted in rhythm, connection, and expression.
Sensual does NOT mean sexual! Konpa is a social dance and a language of love that can be shared respectfully between partners, friends, and family.
Some women feel safer dancing with other women because sensuality is often misunderstood.
Understand the culture before judging the movement. Sensuality is not an invitation.
This is culture! 🇭🇹
men have been saying for YEARS that they don’t want daughters because they don’t want them to become “hoes” but women joking about not wanting a son cause of how men treat women is suddenly where y’all draw the line 😭 you’d think woman aborting male fetuses is a every day thing
She was EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT, getting her two children ready for school, when six officers arrived at the door with a warrant.
Porcha Woodruff thought it was a joke. They were arresting her for carjacking.
She and her fiancé asked them to check whether the suspect on the report was pregnant. They refused.
Detroit, the morning of 16 February 2023. She is 32.
Here is how they got to her. A woman had returned the victim's phone to a petrol station. Police ran facial recognition on the petrol station video. The software produced Porcha Woodruff.
Then — and this is the part that turns a software error into a human one — they put her in a photo line-up using an **eight-year-old picture** from a 2015 arrest. They had her current driver's licence. They used the old photo. The victim picked it.
A visibly, enormously pregnant woman was processed for robbery and carjacking.
She was held and released that evening on a hundred-thousand-dollar personal bond. By the time she got out she was having contractions from the stress, and a medical centre recorded a low heart rate from dehydration.
On 6 March the Wayne County Prosecutor dropped the case. Insufficient evidence.
Her lawsuit calls the match what it was: an "unreliable facial recognition match." The police chief said the allegations were "very concerning."
Think about the order of events once more, because it matters.
The machine was wrong. Then a detective chose an eight-year-old photograph over the licence on file. Then six officers went to a house.
Then nobody in that chain looked at a woman eight months pregnant and compared her to a report that did not mention a pregnant suspect.
Her story is a reminder of why these injustices must be documented, remembered, and challenged. Get our book which documents over 150 of the crimes against Black people https://t.co/V6OJtayKnF
@brwnloyus@30HRSZANE You weren’t typically darker as kid because you played outside and outside more? And when you get older, you stay inside more so eventually you get lighter….thats all. Pushing bleach is a hard statement
This video is clearly showing how men protect rapists.
Mia is chasing the guy she caught raping her friend and the guy mocking her are the rapist's friends.
They didn't care their friend raped a woman.
Like this woman is hanging out with heads of states and that mfka had the audacity to fix his ugly ass mouth tryna tell her she needed to SHRINK herself to appease HIM?! Gtfoh
It’s genuinely disturbing how some men can be holding their children, spending time with them, and watching their favourite shows together, yet still have sex on their minds. You could be dressed as a literal frog, and these men would still find a way to sexualise women.
At least they’re not beating up their husbands and children, as men have done throughout history. Society mocks women for expressing anger but keeps making excuses for men who turn theirs into violence. Apparently, a woman being loud is more offensive than a man being abusive.
@skiistiredasf This is just the kind of thing the Stand Your Ground law was designed for. Unfortunately, it's been used as an excuse for White people to get away with murdering Black people. It's heartening to see it used to exonerate a Black person. This was definitely the right decision.
Melissa Payne, a Black woman, will not face charges after fatally shooting a white Army veteran during a Walmart parking lot dispute in Florida. Prosecutors ruled she was protected under the state’s Stand Your Ground law after she said he threatened her and used a racial slur.
