YOWPSUD was proud to participate at the Kilifi County Youth Devolution Conference, joining young people, government leaders and key stakeholders in conversations on youth participation, devolution, inclusive governance and sustainable development.

Through our engagement, we reaffirmed our commitment to amplifying young people's voices, strengthening meaningful civic participation and creating spaces where youth can actively contribute to decision-making and community development.

We also joined forces with @yadeneastafrica in amplifying commitments towards peaceful elections through music, art and collective action, recognizing the power of creative expression in building a culture of peace.

As YOWPSUD, we believe that young people must not only be included in development conversations but also empowered to influence policies, shape decisions and drive meaningful change.

A devolved future that works for everyone must have young people at the center.

Creativity must have a seat at the table where decisions are made and communities are transformed.
I appreciate the efforts of H.E. the Deputy Governor & @HonMbet of @KilifiCountyGov in creating meaningful spaces for creatives to engage with county government initiatives, contribute to community solutions and become active participants in leadership and governance structures.

Bringing creatives closer to the county government's development agenda is an important step towards recognising the creative economy as a partner in community transformation. Beyond entertainment, creatives have the power to influence mindsets, build confidence, mobilise communities and inspire homegrown solutions to local challenges.

I believe our creativity should translate into impact, our voices should influence policy, and our talents should be part of the solutions shaping our communities.

Let's move from simply celebrating creatives to actively involving, empowering and investing in them.

A journey of growth, courage, and transformation! 🌸

YOWPSUD hosted the final mentorship session under the #MwanamkeImara project, marking the close of an impactful 18-month journey of strengthening women’s leadership in PCVE.

With support from @CanHCKenya through @SFCG_Ke, women have strengthened their capacity to champion peace and security frameworks, access leadership platforms, and shape safer, more inclusive communities.

In Kwale, the impact is taking root. Women are increasingly exercising leadership, trust between communities and security actors is growing, reporting is improving, and inter-county collaboration among security agencies is taking shape.

As this chapter closes, the journey continues. #MwanamkeImara has laid a foundation for women to lead, influence, and champion sustainable peace. The seeds planted over 18 months are already bearing fruit, and the future holds even greater possibilities.
