Amen Diana so true indeed whether it’s around our salvation, or evangelizing a timely reminder.
I bring up salvation as I believe the lesson is applicable given Jesus gives us the parable of laborers in the vineyard in Matthew 20 ( immediately following the verses above).
Also interesting to note that those laborers that came in late…had no formal contract with their master unlike the initial laborers that agreed to work the day for a denarius (legalism much?). Instead the master of the house told them “whatever is right, I will give it to you.”
Thank God for the mercy and grace of Jesus which knows no boundaries!
Have you ever thought - God what’s in it for me?
This thought is captured in Matthew 19 when Peter asks the Lord, “See, we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?”
Matthew 19:27
Sometimes the Lord may have our hands, but not our heart. It’s not what we do, but why we do it.
Jesus responded by telling Peter and the disciples, “Truly, I say to you, in the new world, when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.”
Matthew 19:28-29
Yet I was drawn to the last sentence that follows what Jesus tells Peter and the others - “But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”
Matthew 19:30
Are we transactional, or do we do what do out of grace to serve the Lord?
Lord may your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Help us to align our motives in all we do with your will and ways.
Encourage, talk about Jesus, and dream with your kids.
Tonight as I put my 10 year old daughter to bed, we read through the Bible. When we finished, she told me a handful of questions she has for Jesus. Some of them we were able to answer in the Bible, and some of the others she hopes to get an answer one day face to face with our Lord and Savior.
The time you spend with your young ones is so precious. Encourage them, discuss the Word with them, pray with them.
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6
Just because your past may be public online, it doesn’t mean that in Christ it’s not paid for, hallelujah!
Thank God for the immeasurable forgiveness of Jesus!
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:11-12
I would like to ask everyone to pray for Dr. Peter Stafford, the missionary physician who has been evacuated from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) after testing positive for the Ebola virus. Please also pray for his wife, Dr. Rebekah Stafford, and their four children. The Staffords now serve with Serge, but were part of our Samaritan’s Purse Post-Residency Program several years ago. I spoke with Rebekah by phone today and told her we would be praying for Peter and their family. https://t.co/8tc68XsvB2
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.
For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Hebrews 1:3
@mymomcare I’d say your mom looks healthier. Here are my grandparents - my grandmother is 92, and my grandfather is 93. I’d say they also look a bit healthier.
@GEORGEPPP Amen and amen - with Jesus as the head, marriage becomes something supernatural. Not to be hyperbolic, but it truly is a different covenant with our Lord and Savior as the Head.
No condemnation, we can’t look backwards - only forward. But is important that we preach love in truth - divorce is a moral issue.
“He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.””
Matthew 19:8-9
Love is a choice - Lord, please help us to bloom where we are planted. Marriage is work, and we desperately need God for it to work.
