Tip #3 from Louise: Digital PR can get you category links too. Build a campaign idea around a category page and politely ask the journalist to link to it rather than your homepage, or include a link to a relevant category page in the press release #RemoteSEOMeetup
Tip #2 from Louise: Don’t just focus on followed links. Nofollow links still generate traffic and can still be great PR! Coverage on a site with a blanket nofollow rule can lead to even greater coverage. #RemoteSEOMeetup
Louise’s top tip #1: Think of your audience too. Just because you can get links for an idea, it doesn’t mean you should. Make sure the link makes sense for your brand, the journalist and the ideal customer #RemoteSEOMeetup
Tip #3 from Hana: It’s not just links… we should be focusing on the other achievements that our campaigns reach too. Whether they’re picked up by celebrities, on TV, via government bodies and more. Celebrate this success! #RemoteSEOMeetup
Tip #2 from Hana: Remember you are handling a brand’s reputation when you are building links. Make sure you’re happy with whatever you are saying on your client’s behalf. #RemoteSEOMeetup
Next up, it’s Hana Bednarova (@Miss_HanaB) from Bednar Comms. Hana’s top tip #1: Build relevant links! If you try to build irrelevant links, journalists will question the content and it’ll be difficult to get results from users too. Instead, focus on relevancy #RemoteSEOMeetup
Tip #3 from Carl: Google does still care! The new rel=UGC and rel=sponsored tags show that links are still an important factor, so focus on good links and never buy them! #RemoteSEOMeetup
Tip #2 from Carl: Links aren’t just for equity. Linked and unlinked mentions build awareness, increase relevant traffic and increase your authority! Consider egobaiting and newsjacking too #RemoteSEOMeetup
Carl’s top tip #1: Not all links are equal. You might not see results straight away, but a gradual build up can make a huge difference. Spread your focus across publications - one link per domain is usually enough. #RemoteSEOMeetup
