Its only about 19,000 square feet, not huge, but it is on 40 acres. So its a really nice environement.

President Dallin Harris Oaks (@oaksdallinh) was announced today as the 18th President and Prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The announcement was made during a live broadcast from Salt Lake City, Utah. President Oaks was sustained and set apart today, October 14, 2025.

In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the prophet is chosen through a divinely inspired process. When the prophet passes away, the First Presidency is dissolved, and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, led by the longest-serving Apostle, assumes leadership, confirming the new Prophet through revelation and priesthood authority.

President Oaks, 93, succeeds President Russell M. Nelson, who passed away September 27, 2025.

The new leader of a global faith of more than 17 million members has called President Henry B. Eyring (@eyringHB), 92, and President D. Todd Christofferson (@ChristoffDTodd), 80 to serve with him as first and second counselors in the First Presidency, the Church’s highest governing body.

@ThoughtfulSaint Just because certain things that God has done seem impossible to man's current scientific understanding does not make them wrong or impossible or symbolic.

@ThoughtfulSaint Man's testing and scientific interpretation is often demonstrably wrong. Many things Man's science would deem scientifically impossible, such as the resurrection, turning water into wine, multiplying a few fishs and bread to thousands, walking on water, etc, etc.....

@ThoughtfulSaint Jesus suffered greater pains then anyone could ever on this earth. Are we greater then Jesus that we think we can escape such trials.

@ThoughtfulSaint Often these trials, horrible as they are at times are tailored made to give us the mortal experiences we need. Who is to say we didn't agree to this in the pre earth life.

@TheStakeClerk After all these years of 12+ temples announced every conference, I think how can they continue to announce so much, and yet they do. It's a glorious and beautiful thing to behold. The Saints of God have much to rejoice over.

I feel like a good goal and small sacrifice would be to go at least every week on a day off or on both days off if possible, so I can obtain that added spiritual blessing.

I went yesterday and today to the Temple. Hopefully this is a start to a new pattern.

No greater blessing from our Heavenly Father and His Son and our Savior Jesus Christ can be obtained then by going to and participating in sacred Temple ordinances for ourselves and our kindred dead.

Life these days can be very difficult and often very confusing.

As such we need all the divine intervention and guidance we can get.

The Sacramento Temple is only 24 miles from my house.
