@Timcast This is the correct take. All these free speech advocates and anti-cancel culture folks are chomping at the bit when these tactics are used against their enemies. Have a spine and stand by your values. Those values should be defended most when the overton window shifts to you.
@libsoftiktok You know even if you both strongly disagree politically, you don't have to revel in somebody's suffering. Everyone deserves some sympathy when shits gets tough. Everyone I know has had a sort of mental breakdown at one point or another. Maybe reach out to help instead.
@samtripoli Nah my man, this guy is actually pretty cool. No politics from him, gotta dig a little deeper before you fall for the dividing crap. This aint it brother.
@IanCopeland5@joerogan See how he handled it? Instead of gas lighting and name calling, he calmly adressed the conspiracy with a reasonable explanation. It would appear most people thought โAh, fair enough.โ and moved on. Maybe learn from it.
@TheNutrivore I'm not sure I even understand what I'm looking at. You, a vegan, wanted to debate another vegan and argue against the idea that animal products are unhealthy and he didn't want to? Seems the least biased person to argue against, so why wouldn't he do it?
It would be pretty difficult to pull off a facsimile of nature, though the above studies does say that more experimental studies are needed in reference to the observational studies. I think there is just such a high degree of independent variables in a "true" nature setting, as well as the cross effects of each variable to properly recreate. It would be interesting to see which is most impactful, like sunlight exposure, change in sleeping habits, noise levels, etc...
You canโt control your kids future, but you can guide their present. I didnโt mean to come off as an asshole, but camping meant so much to me as a kid and helps me so much in my present. It kind of just breaks my heart thinking of kids spending more time customizing their Fortnite characters than riding their bikes until the streetlights come on, or toasting hotdogs while camping. My stupid blue checkmark means nothing more than the 8 dollars I paid for it by the way.
@M4ro0on @elonmusk@X I have seen over a dozen posts about vaccines causing autism and every single one of them was community noted saying that they donโt cause autism with several sources beneath. So what are you on about?
Are you refuting what he said in the podcast? In between all the jump cuts and deliberately obfuscated context, do you deny his claims? Its genuinely hard to tell what your getting at between the ambiguity of the post and the edited video. If you do deny it, do you have this little pesky thing called... evidence?
Yeah, I usually try to error on the side of caution and assume the worst, but I'm poor so seed oils are unavoidable. It's good to hear they're safe. By coinciding variables, I mean like if you study people who don't consume seed oils, they likely don't also eat potato chips and twinkies, so the studies wouldn't really work huh? Same is true with vegan diet studies. If don't eat meat, you can't eat big macs. I don't know what multicollinearity means, but I can look it up.
@TheNutrivore Well, in the context I usually hear it, the definition is a sliding scale between it causes all cancers and mental health disorders, or it might slightly increase your risk for heart disease. So maybe the median of those? What does the science actually say?
@ScepticalDoctor I think that's mostly true within middle class western society as far as total number of vegans go. Unfortunately, as the middle class shrinks, as does portion of total pop that is western shrinks, the percent of global pop that is vegan is shrinking.
I do have a sense of objective morality. One of my moral objectives also just happens to be not forcing them on others, that's what dictators do, and I don't like them. The only place of objective morality I can draw on to make laws, are from the constitution, as its the best codex I have found yet. I am sure it's not perfect, but it's the best we have. So for the heroin, unfortunately yes, it should be allowed. Another sacrifice.
I can also say I donโt really know what the term โanxietyโ means. I have heard people use it for everything from being worried about the future to the brink of full blown psychosis. When I tell people I have anxiety I mean the later. I never had โanxietyโ until I had a full blown panic attack from smoking some strong marijuana. I had smoked weed for 10 years, very heavily, until this happened.
I smoked the same weed the day before, and just out of the blue on day, it broke my brain. It wasnโt laced, I smoked it my friends like I always do and they were all fine. For no good reason that day it put me in a primal state of panic that induced a violent hallucination involving out of body experiences and pure fear.
Now I have to be careful even being in the same room with weed smoke. It put me in a dangerous head space for over a month.
To this day I still have an occasional panic attack and have persistent โanxietyโ. I guess that still doesnโt explain it, but itโs as close as I can get.
