A man convicted of raping four children under 13-years-old in Leeds fled to Ireland while on bail. He spent 33 days on the run before he was found by Gardaí and arrested in a town in North Cork. Recently a different man of Pakistani and German nationality was arrested in Cork and returned to Germany where he is wanted for alleged kidnapping offences.

These cases are extremely concerning. Ireland needs to have a serious debate about immigration enforcement measures. It is unacceptable that Ireland can be treated as a destination for foreign convicts or wanted persons to escape justice and accountability.

I asked the Minister for Justice for the number of violent and sexual assault cases broken down by the nationality & country of origin of the person charged.

The answer: that data does not exist. The CSO does not collect nationality data on suspected offenders at all.

We cannot have an honest conversation about crime and public safety in this country if the most basic data isn't even being gathered.

I will keep pushing for it.

FOREIGN CHILD RAPIST HIDING IN IRELAND:

A "dangerous" child rapist, Jason Spence, who was convicted in the UK for raping 4 young girls, has been found hiding in Ireland after a manhunt.

All of his victims were under 13 years old at the time of his offences.

So to recap; A man from Jordan arrived in Ireland and falsely claimed to be fleeing for his life and was allowed to seek asylum. He then allegedly murdered a woman and fled back to the country he claimed he was unsafe in and Irish politicians blamed porn and toxic masculinity.

None of them have a picture of the suspect.
None of them name the suspect
None of them reveal his nationality

The Mirror alone reveals his age as 28, right, despite Gardai last night saying they were prevented from revealing that detail for legal reasons.

Where are the Opposition politicians demanding a change to the law? Or are they so obsessed with community cohesion and societal harmony that they dare not link asylum seekers with serious criminality. Wasters.
