Gonna' argue the reason Goat didn't hit the furry community like Zootopia did was because it was largely black in culture and had no canines the white majority fandom want to fuck or be fucked by.
@QSixseven The second I heard him say “none of anything you ever did is your fault” I laughed out loud. Like…what kinda garbage is this? Written by a feminist who wants the female character to have zero accountability.
not that hard to avoid spoilers if you stay off the internet for two weeks, older netizens used to do it all the time with shows aired on cable, newer fans can't handle that fact
I was there for Homestuck. I was there in the Tumblr days of Seven Universe and Gravity Falls. I was there for the formative years of online fandoms all across the internet.
The TADC fandom is one of the most unruly, childish fandoms I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. Instead of being happy that a small indie studio get's a chance at a theatrical release, y'all want to boycott it because you want it to "stay niche" and don't want the medium to mature and grow, and push bigger studios like Disney and Pixar out of the spotlight for once.
Despite what it might seem like on the internet, Glitch is small peanuts compared to those giants. The rest of the world outside of the internet bubble has NO IDEA what TADC even is, so these theatres need to be convinced that showing it will be worth it for them.
On top of that, despite GLITCH being an Australian company; TADC is an American production. Of COURSE they're going to focus on where the show originated and where it's most popular for their initial theatrical release; but if you want to see it closer to you, YOU NEED TO REACH OUT AND ASK FOR IT.
GLITCH can't do it all, THEY'RE INDIE. IT'S US. WE'RE THE DISTRIBUTORS. It's just like Iron Lung all over again, but GLITCH is getting shit on instead of supported like Iron Lung was.
I grew up in a time where I had to dodge spoilers for limited releases, and I managed to do it. Avoiding spoilers is surprisingly easy, you're just too entitled.
We should absolutely be supporting an indie studio when they make moves like this. It's unheard of for something like this to be happening, and these projects are backed by real people with real passions. GLITCH doesn't make their money from YouTube views, they make it on merch and MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, they'll make a LITTLE revenue from these movie releases, but we have to support them if we want to see more projects like Iron Lung and TADC moving into the big screens.
@weirdbeingg I don’t think boycotting is necessarily a BAD idea but there needs to be organization and actual proper planning ahead of time before a boycott could even be considered.
