I'm surprised they actually put him in prison
It took 22 people working together to report him, and the amount was also "only $28K" (around $1,200-$1,300 per person)
I'm happy this happened, don't get me wrong, but it's pretty rare
In my country, there are people known to have scammed others out of well over $100K in recent years in these Facebook groups, and nothing ever happened to them, even though many of the victims reported them to the police
๐จ A Danish CS skin trader just got arrested after scamming 22 people for around $28,000.
He was selling skins through a Facebook group with 83,000+ members.
Buyers sent him money, expecting the skins after.
According to him, he was acting as a middleman for someone called โMarkusโ, who was supposed to send the skins.
The skins never arrived.
And the money?
Apparently lost on online casinos.
He ended up getting 3 months suspended prison + 80 hours of community service.
Heโs reportedly already paid back around a third of the money.
Pretty insane reminder that a big community + a trusted-looking seller doesnโt make a cash trade safe.
