The CDC has officially extended the federal eviction moratorium by 30 days, to the end of July. This is a relief, but it won't last long.

Even if states/cities hustle to distribute rental assistance this month, millions of tenants will still be stuck with massive debts.

We’re joining the Kansas City, KS Board of Public Utilities meeting in solidarity with those facing utility shut offs. There’s been ample resources since the beginning of the pandemic to make sure our communities are taken care of.

No one should have their utilities shut off.

The KCK Board of Public Utilities must:
-Extend shut-off moratoriums until fed assistance reaches those who have/haven’t been able to submit an app to KERA (and effectively cancel rental debt)
-Implement med equipment & extreme weather policies that actually protect BPU customers

We have someone who is being illegally evicted by her landlord. She's going to stay, but the harassment has ramped up.

Her "eviction date" is June 1st. We may need bodies on Tuesday for a blockade.
