Renton District levey is 24% ... One option is to increase to the max 36% (effectively transfering burden from state to local).not best opt

General agreement that we need to reach out to legislature to reinstate the k-4 funding

Pam Teal: pointed out that an additional 11 state funded FTEs will be lost from K-4 (total 34, average 3 teachers per school)

Al Talley: State needs to stop funding projects one year and then dropping the budget next year.. 6k to 8k teachers lost in WA.

Bottom line: current expenditures is $135 million Current projected expenditures is $ 139 million **** Net difference ($5.3 million)

K-4 with 5125 students would see net reduction of 25 staff/teachers (1.7 million loss in state funding

Gov budet cuts will hurt: grades 5-12 as well: highly capable, LID, full day kindergarden, I-728 class size($7mil to 0), I-732 all cut 100%
