@jeff_gluck Are they calling IMS a crown Jewel? I'm pretty sure people are making the argument that it's not. Daytona, Darlington 500 and the Coke 600 are crown jewels.

I've always considered the brickyard to be one.

@lejacksonjr3 Honestly needs to be a Saturday night race. Arca & Trucks @ IRP gets good when the sun goes down. 5pm in the Midwest sucks. Peak heat & humidity.

IMS would put on a hell of a show & be one of the best places in town to go party. All summer dates should be sunset to night races.

@thomasmckinley @bobpockrass Yes. Those are from the second repave. The original track not brick. The bricks came after a better surface was needed.

However, they are "original" in the sense that they have seen more races than all of us. And the track does have a huge number of backups in case.

@theandreboso For the last two weeks there was a promotion going on. It was basically like double usage or something like that. But that promo ended on Saturday. So that's probably one of the biggest contributing factors.

@JeffStriegle @AAASoCal Phoenix, Vegas, Auto club. I used to do all three for 3 weeks in a row. Really miss Fontana. Beautiful resetting and the weather was just gorgeous.
